Cultivating a resilient character turns failure into success

7 Traits of the Most Resilient People Resilience is the ability to return to the original form after being bent, stretched or compressed. It’s the ability to readily recover from illness, depression or   adversity . How would you ever handle it if you lost everything you had today? What would your next step be? How long would you be depressed and upset and angry? What would it take for you to pull yourself up and start all over again?   How resilient are you?   Could you handle it? Could you learn from all of your disappointments and start all over again? What would it take? First, it would take a lot of  self-discipline . It would take a lot of positive self-talk to muster up the energy to begin again. It would take a lot of concentration to block out the noise and the clutter of all the negative voices trying to get through, as well as the negative voices of others around you. It would take a lot of discipline to balance the fear and anxiety with the knowing that, if you di

We All Have Two Choices in Life

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT We All Have 2 Choices in Life. To be all that we can be, or to be less. Each of us has two distinct choices to make about what we will do with our lives. The first choice we can make is to be less than we have the capacity to be. To earn less. To have less. To read less and think less. To try less and discipline ourselves less. These are the choices that lead to an empty life—the the choices that, once made, lead to a life of constant apprehension instead of a life of wondrous anticipation. And the second choice? To do it all! To become all that we can possibly be. To  read every book that we possibly can . To earn as much as we possibly can. To give and share as much as we possibly can. To strive and produce and accomplish as much as we possibly can. All of us have the choice. To do or not to do. To be or not to be. To be all or to be less or to be nothing at all. To live our life for God or for Devil. To say the truth or lie. To live an holiness

Official Letter from Brain Tracy to Optimist Ibk

Hi Optimist Ibk, Much of my success – if not all of it – I would attribute to one single thing… Can you take a guess at what it is? Well, it wasn’t that I came from a wealthy family, or even got good grades in high school. In fact, when I was still a teenager, I became aware for the first time that many other families seemed to be doing far better than we were… They had nicer homes, newer clothes, and better cars. They seemed to not worry about money like we did… And they seemed to be able to afford many things my family couldn’t dream of. Then, I had the first revelation that began changing the course of my life… It dawned on me one day that if I ever wanted things to change for me, then it was up to ME to change. I eventually decided that I wasn’t going to spend the rest of my life being dirt poor, going without food, or sleeping on the ground. Fast forward to just a few years later… I began my career in sales, learned and modeled myself after the top sa

Developing a Better Life

You can choose to become a better person in this month of April. Like I choosed to be one as an Optimist. The direction of ours is determined by the choices we make every day. They accumulate and add up to our ultimate destiny. What’s yours look like? Here are eight choices you can make, choices that will create abundance and prosperity in all areas of your life: 1. Choose to grow personally. This sounds simple, but many people never choose to grow by taking real action—actually exercising, saving more money, reading a book (or two or three), waking up earlier, picking up a new hobby. Make a decision today to be a person who is on the never-ending journey of personal growth. 2. Choose to always treat others right. We come across all sorts of people, many of whom will treat us poorly. We can choose to treat them right, no matter how they treat us. When they lie, we will tell the truth. When they cheat, we will play by the rules. We may get the short end of the stick sometimes, bu
