Sermon Subject: The More Excellence Way.


Introduction: We live in a society where mediocrity is the normal norms; many people do as little as they can to get by, they don’t take pride in their work, in which they are. If someone is watching they will perform one way, but if nobody is watching, they will cut corners and take the easy way.
We live in a world where the people respect the trinity in the presence of the trinity people and do the other way round in the present of ungodly people, which gives ungodly people the room to insult God and their minister of God.
God want best from us, God does not bless mediocrity, God bless excellence.
If we are with the mentality, thinking that it’s okay to show up late to work, to show up late to church, to serve with pretense, the excellence of God will be exempted.
When you have an excellent spirit, you do the right thing whether anyone is watching or not.
Let me open your instinct and initiative. You may go to church and read bible to honour God, Yes, but it honour God to work in the way of excellent.
Definition of Excellent:

By Optimist Ibk: Excellent is defined as a kind of Degree, surpassing others in good quality with the assurance that there is best at the end than of the present.

Bible Text: 
(Matthew 5:41) IF ANYONE FORCES YOU TO GO ONE MILE, GO WITH THEM TWO MILES
Back in those days, a pioneer soldier when they were traveling through the city they could require by law a person to carry their armor for one mile, for another mile, they will find somebody Else.

THE STEPS TO MORE EXCELLENT WAY. PART 1

(2Corinthians 12:31) But earnestly desire the best gift and yet I show you a more excellent way.
1. The way of LOVE is most excellence than gift of man.

When you are walking in love, you will always see what others cannot see. Love gives room for others to support you to the excellence way. (1 John 4:8), He who does not love does not know God, for God his love.

1.1 Loving God
(Psalm 18:1) I will love you, O lord, my strength.
When you love God, He cost things to work together for you and it brings you to the way of excellence.

1.2 Loving yourself
(Proverbs 19:8) To acquire wisdom is to love oneself; people who cherish understanding will prosper.  
When you love yourself, it develops you to the way of excellence.

1.3 Loving men 
(John 13:34-35) A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this they will know that you are My disciples, if you have love one another
 (1 John 4:7) Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God.
(Proverb 10:12) Hatred stirs up strife, But Love covers all sins.
When you love men, it cost the enemy to favor you to the way of excellence.

2. Giving the best to God moves you to the excellence way.
(1 Deuteronomy 15:10) You shall surely give to him, and your heart should not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your works and in all which you put your hand.
When your best is recorded in heaven it authorize you into the excellence way.
 NOTE: Everything you have or possess is not recorded in heaven, only of the things you do for God.

2.1 Giving your life: 
(John 1:12) But as many as received Him, to them he gave the right to become the children of God, even to those who believe in His name.

2.2 Giving your time:  
(Matthew 6:33) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

2.3 Giving your resources: 
(Exodus 36:5-6) And they spoke to Moses, saying, “The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which the Lord commanded us to do.” So Moses gave a commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, “Let neither man nor woman do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary.     

THE STEPS TO MORE EXCELLENCE WAY. PART 2

1. Having a spiritual identity.
 (John 3:6) And which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the spirit is spirit.
A spiritual man has an excellence spirit that makes him solve any problem. Politician only solve politics crises, doctor solve only sickness.
What doctor cannot do spiritual man will do it, what lawyer cannot handle; a spiritual man can handle it.

1.1 The ability of the Holy Spirit
(1 Corinthians 12:8-10)
For to one is giving the word of wisdom through spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same same spirit, to another faith by the same spirit, to another gifts of healing by the same spirit, to another the working of miracle, to another prophecy, to another discerning spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.                        
It is the supernatural ability of the Holy Spirit upon a man`s life, that makes man solve all kind of problem which distinguish him to be an excellence man.
(If you take the Holy Spirit from me, I`m gone, Holy Spirit is not a Pentecostal experience to me, He is my life.

1.2 The fruit of the Holy Spirit
(Galatians 5:22)
But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
The fruit of the Holy Spirit support your spirit to walk in excellent way, and it develops you into the path way of excellence.


2. Personal Development
(1 Samuel 2:26) And the child Samuel grew in stature and in favour with the Lord and men.
When it comes to personal development, it not only makes you to grow spiritually, but it develop you in others area.

2.1 Your extra is needed.
Ecclesiastes 9:10
(Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in grave where you are going.)
What will make you to be difference from ordinary people is when you possesses extra, which makes you to be extra ordinary person. Jacob did extra ordinary work, which made Laban to keep him. Laban said God has blessed me for your sake.
You have to do your best and live noting left.
Do your best and live the rest, if you live the rest, who will you live the rest for?
2.2 Update your knowledge bank.  
(Proverbs 19:8) He who gets wisdom loves his own souls; he who keeps understanding will find good.
           
3. The four “D” to excellence way

3.1 Desire
(Psalms 37:4) (NKJV) delight yourself also in the Lord, and I shall give you the desire of your heart.
(Psalm 145:19)(ESV) He fulfills the desire of those who fear Him, He also hears their cry and save them.
The pathway of excellence is not for the wishers, only those that desire, if not, you will be walking in the pathway of others.
Your desire will base on the knowledge you have acquired.
(Proverbs 19:2a) ESV. Desire without knowledge is not good.

3.2 Decision.
(Philippians 4:8) Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever honourable, whatever is right whatever is pure, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report, if there is and excellence and it a thing worthy of praise, dwell in these things.
God does not decide for us but He gives us the chance to decide on our decision, He only guides us through.
When the time comes we will either choose the right path which is the more excellence way or suffer from the consequences of the other choice.
(Daniel 1:8) Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies nor the wine which they drink.
 In other word, Daniel decided in his heart that he will maintain the more excellence way.         

3.3 Discipline
(Hebrews 12:11) For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Discipline engages your inner spirit to be at work, rather than your brain or emotion.
Discipline Demonstrates Decent Desire

3.4 Diligent
(Proverbs 21:5) (The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, but those of everyone who is hasty, comes surely to poverty)
Your constant effort to accomplish something paves way of excellence for you.
Your persistence is needed in the journey to excellence.
Nehemiah diligence helps him overcome his enemy and makes him an excellent man.
(Nehemiah 3:6-7)

Conclusion
To walk in an excellence way, you need to discover the mystery within the way, and you have to utilize the mystery you discovered.
We speak of Daniel to be an excellent man, but majority forget the journey and the pathway in which he followed to become an excellent man.
So unfortunate that many in our society will aspire to become an excellence being, but they are never ready to take the step of becoming an excellent being.
You have to walk in the principle in which will make you to be distinguish above your fellows.
